Shame on you hulver by gpig (4.00 / 3) #1 Thu Mar 16, 2006 at 06:14:04 AM EST
for supporting a bunch of southy Southerners against a fine Northern team like Boro. That said you might be actually trying to win the competition, in which case, fair enough.

This round should be interesting by TPD (4.00 / 1) #2 Thu Mar 16, 2006 at 11:50:18 AM EST
Away wins and draws all round I'm guessing!

City will take West Ham (although Bolton would have beaten them ... grumble ... grumble ...); 'Pool will take Brum; and Charlton / 'Boro is pretty 50:50 at The Valley.

I'd like to see the Geordies take down Tzjeltzi, partly out of underdog romanticism and partly to knock out all the HuSi Competition's soul-less grubbers wise pragmatists. However: I just can't see it happening, especially as Mourinho's out of Europe, at home, full-strength, and not yet won the Cup. If the Geordies can get the Blues back to St. James', they've got a chance, but I'm not sure they'll manage it and, in fact, could get beaten-up quite badly if they aren't careful.

Quite possibly by TPD (4.00 / 1) #4 Thu Mar 16, 2006 at 12:21:30 PM EST
but I've got to stick with my Liverpool beating Newcastle in the final prediction.

Newcastle (beyond being beaten last weekend by an absolutely phenomenal performance by Rooney last weekend) have been looking alot better in recent weeks...

So I'm hopeful of a Newcastle win facilitated by some really dodgy decision by Mourinho (just like last year in other words)
