and have i mentioned that the dude and his crawling all over the place has brought out my only known superpower?
ahem
that was it. up there. in bold. i clear my throat and no matter where he is, i suddenly have his attention. he stops what he's doing and usually smiles at me to defuse the "situation." the "situation" usually being his playing with an electrical cord or somehow trying to bring about his or the dog's early demise. i fully anticipate the certain decline in effectiveness of my newly discovered gift, but when i think about it i still look up when my mom does that. hrm. perhaps this is, after all, a parent-specific skill. whatever...i'm drunk with power! i will clear my throat with reckless abandon!
in other dude news: the tooth count is up to 2.5-ish. and he's not really happy about it. nor is my index finger.
i was told that it was a nice day yesterday since it wasn't in the upper 90s. what. the. fuck. ever. it is hot, humid and miserable here. please note that it is july and i am in the middle of my "may through september bitch about the heat in texas" free zone. yes, it is more miserable than the cornfield where i used to live. yes, it is hotter than that place you once were. no, you do not understand my misery. i sweat more than you do. i am more put out by the heat. and i hate it infinitely more than you ever could. thanks for playing.
additionally, ew.
my more creative projects are moving along nicely. i'm re-recording a bunch of stuff and that's far more tedious than writing it. more polish, more focus, more time. and as i may have mentioned, by 8 pm, i'm usually pretty tired. whatever. as long as i'm doing something, i'm happy.
my beloved is off to pick up our quarter cow today. i'm pretty stoked. what we got last time tasted sooooo goooood. it was worth every penny. more on that as the consuming of tasty meat products begins!
also, i finished david sedaris's latest book and it was pretty good. i did plenty of laughing aloud, but it wasn't like "me talk pretty one day" where i couldn't read it in public. worth the read, as all of his work is.
that's all i've got. boring ain't always bad.
